Simon Neaverson
Founder & CEO
Simon is the founder of GovernRight and has been an advisor and consultant to Boards and management for over 25 years. Simon is a core facilitator with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in strategy, risk and corporate governance. Simon has been advising Boards and Senior Management in the public, private, government and not-for-profit sector. He has facilitated industry reviews on behalf of the NSW Government in the finance and insurance industries, business and property services, education and training, wholesale and retail trade, mining, the wine and the cut flower sectors. He has advised in excess of 280 boards and executive teams on strategy, risk, governance and accountability in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Simon has been a director for nearly 20 years, with experience as an executive and non-executive director, board chair and chairman of a number of board sub-committees.
Davide Defendi
Technical Director
Davide is an experienced technical manager and strategist with more than 17 years' tech start-up experience in Australia and Europe. He draws on his start up-experience and industry knowledge to deliver the best in class IT solutions and maximise ROI. He has worked at a senior operational level for a venture capital funded social networking platform that experienced explosive growth and was part of the core team that delivered a technical solution growing and servicing a subscriber base from nothing to more than 15 million users. He has proven ability to lead multi-functional teams and execute innovative strategies to create and enhance corporate value.
Davide sees technology as an enabler and focuses on how technology can be used to enhance business efficacy and create a better overall experience. He has a degree in computer and mathematical sciences.
Matt Tyler
Client Services Lead
Matt has extensive and diverse business management experience spanning over 30 years in investment banking, travel and hospitality sector, education, charities/NFP and public safety. His track record is in driving strategic change for organisations and individuals from business case to closure. Successes include launching new sales channels and technologies and establishing and gaining funding for new business ventures through strategic insight and stakeholder management.
He has worked for HSBC, Societe Generale, Bankers Trust and Uniting Church.
Nic Carr
Consultant Relations
Nic is an experienced chairman, director, consultant and facilitator covering many aspects of business development, stakeholder management, business operations and board governance, engagement and participation. Nic has experience in the private sector with large proprietary companies and unlisted public companies, as well as with not-for-profit organisations and local government. Nic spent 20 years in legal practice with a mid-tier law firm, 16 years of which was as Managing Principal. Nic is a facilitator with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in its “In Boardroom” program and “Company Director’s" course including courses on directorship, governance, finance, directors’ duties and responsibilities and the Board legal environment. Nic has also worked with businesses as a facilitator including strategic planning, performance reviews and risk reviews.
Tracey Neaverson
Knowledge, Communication and Compliance
A background in commercial law, combined with PR and Interior Design gives Tracey the perfect combination of creative flair and an eye for detail. Tracey is the glue that sticks the GovernRight team together, heading up the important areas of Knowledge, Communications and Compliance. In a company focused on simplifying and empowering oversight, Tracey ensures that our vision is being executed effectively by overseeing key operational activities across the business.
Jenny St Quintin
Consulting Support
Jenny is the proverbial "Jill of all trades" for GovernRight, managing a diverse portfolio of roles from user support to implementation and training, from administration to consultant coordination.
Alastair Hood
Advisory Board Director
Alastair is a seasoned businessman and company founder. He has been a director of private and public companies and sat on various government committees. He started his working life as a lawyer and was a partner of Gilbert + Tobin, specialising in corporate work, moved to work in investment banking with Macquarie Bank and worked as an adviser and investor with growth companies before starting a number of businesses. He has significant experience in equity and debt raisings, ASX listings and commercialising technology. His industry experience covers a number of sectors including technology, resources and property. At GovernRight, Alastair's experience supports the management team to grow the business to be a leading governance framework.

The GovernRight Council, made up of leading governance experts, guides and assists development of GovernRight and the tools, methodologies and models to support the Accredited Consultants.
The GovernRight Council is focused on best practice implementation of governance theory into practice.
